It is rare when two opposites can partner, form a business and make it wildly successful. Such was the case in 2000 when Jane Melevin and Mike Field joined forces. It was the right brain meeting the left brain. The techie and the creative. Yet, the one trait they shared in common was the most important of all: a laser sharp customer focus.

This team doesn’t just have clients. They have fans. Fans who have witnessed them sacrificing nights, weekends and even the occasional holiday to put their clients’ well being and ability to run a business smoothly ahead of Mike’s and Jane’s personal time. This team has set a bar in customer service unmatched even by Nordstrom’s.

Jane Melevin hails from Gary, Indiana and earned her degree in business administration from St. Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana. She began her career as a high school business teacher, but soon recognized the financial incentives of the corporate world. It was there that she saw the electronic age evolve. Computers and technology became her world. She knew her technical expertise and desire to help clients was greater than any role she would gain in the corporate world. Enter, stage left, Mike Field.

Mike and Jane had been business colleagues since Mike’s first job out of Northern Illinois University in 1981, when he was selling business forms. Jane spotted his unwavering attention to detail and to his clients. As Jane moved to various companies, she always called in Mike as a vendor. His business expanded to include brochures, business cards, stationery and advertising specialties. He went out on his own in 1991, rented office space in Clarendon Hills and one day, he received a call from Jane. She was ready to go out on her own. Mike had extra office space. The rest is history. In 2000, they formed their official partnership, offering a one-stop solution to every business need for the small to mid-sized company.

In the end, they discovered another shared interest—motorsports. They sponsor a racing team owned by one of their computer technicians, www.Wicker-Racing.com. On weekends, they can be seen with their families cheering on Mark Wicker and his crew at Union Grove or Byron Race Tracks. That is, unless a client calls first…
